The Trustees of Reservations has a new reservation, the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, Massachusetts. Preservationist Clara Endicott Sears founded the Museum, a historic, natural, and cultural destination in 1914. Today, the 210 acre site features three separate museum collections of Shaker, Native American, and American art and artifacts, as well as a historic farmhouse that was once home to the family of Louisa May Alcott. The property includes two miles of recreational trails that traverse the wooded land contiguous to the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge. Brown, Richardson + Rowe assisted the Trustees with a circulation and parking plan. We looked at ways to incorporate the historic road system into the overall circulation plan in a way that enables visitors to enjoy the entire property.
