Clarissa Rowe, RLA
Principal
Clarissa Rowe, Registered Landscape Architect and co-founder of the firm. She has concentrated on waterfront park design and construction, public parks, and the treatment of soils. Clarissa received her education at Bryn Mawr College and at the Conway School of Landscape Design. She has served as both a Selectman and Town Meeting Member in Arlington, Massachusetts. She is the Chair of the Community Preservation Coalition and President of the Arlington Land Trust and the Friends of Menotomy Rocks Park, Inc. She is an avid reader and a Nationals fan.
Nina Brown, RLA
Principal
Nina Brown, Registered Landscape Architect, co-founded the firm with Clarissa Rowe. She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College and her Master of Landscape Architecture degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She focuses on parks, waterfronts, trails, transportation, and historic preservation. Nina is Co-Chair of the Chairman's Council of the Trustees of Reservations and President of the Arboretum Park Conservancy. She served on the Brookline Parks and Recreation Commission for seven years. Nina loves to travel, make watercolor postcards, grow vegetables, read and walk her dog in the woods.
Alison Richardson, RLA
Principal
Alison Richardson, Registered Landscape Architect, is a Principal. Her name was added to the masthead in 2002 to reflect her many contributions to the firm. She received her landscape architecture degree at the University of Wisconsin's School of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a particular focus on woody plants, forestry and prairie restoration. Alison leads institutional, corporate and campus, transportation, waterfront parks, streetscape and park projects. She is an Overseer at the Boston Architectural College. She lives in a former stable next to the Wilson farm, where she was born.
Anna Cardone
Chief Financial Officer, Principal
Anna Cardone is the Chief Financial Officer and a Principal at Brown, Richardson & Rowe, Inc. She joined the firm in 1996 after working at a variety of engineering firms. In 2007, she became a Principal of the firm. She is in charge of office and financial management. Anna studied at Northeastern University and at Suffolk University. She has served on the Board of Trustees at Saint John School in Boston. She enjoys her children, her Sun Conure Parrot and two cats.
Imogene Hatch, RLA
Senior Landscape Architect
Imogene Hatch, Senior Landscape Designer joined the firm in 2010. Genie’s experience includes all aspects of project design, management, master planning and construction administration. She has worked on projects in the Boston area and beyond including corporate developments, institutions, not-for-profits, public parks, and private residences. Genie received a Bachelors of Arts degree with a concentration in Urban Planning and Architectural Studies from Brown University, and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Cornell University. Genie is an equestrian event rider competing in regional events and training with her horse year round.
Peter Shea
CADD Manager
Peter Shea, CADD Manager, joined the firm in 2000 after working as the Senior CADD technician for two different Big Dig Projects. He continues to work on transportation and trail projects and has assisted with a wide range of landscape architectural projects at Brown, Richardson & Rowe. Pete also oversees the office computer network.
Althea Northcross
Landscape Designer
Althea is a landscape designer who joined the firm in 2016. She has worked on a variety of projects including resilience planning, urban planning and private residences. Beginning her career as a language teacher in France led Althea to a fascination with urban planning and landscape design. She has since spent her academic career studying urban forest composition, advanced mapping techniques, and exploring processes for municipal involvement in urban open space plans. Her skillset includes strong GIS mapping, computer and hand graphics, site analysis, and drafting and preparing documents for public meetings.
Aminah McNulty
Marketing Coordinator
Brown, Richardson & Rowe is pleased to announce the addition of Aminah McNulty to our marketing team. Before joining the firm, Aminah worked in Beijing, China assisting with sustainable design research and marketing. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Architecture from Mount Holyoke College and recently completed the Career Discovery program at Harvard Graduate School of Design.
James Pfeiffer, RLA
Landscape Architect
James Pfeiffer joined the firm in 2014. He is a Registered Landscape Architect in the Commonwealth Of Massachusetts with nearly twelve years of experience in both Pennsylvania and New England. He is a graduate of Keystone College’s Environmental Science program and received his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture degree from Temple University. His professional background includes proficiency with construction documentation and administration of landscape projects ranging from educational and institutional facilities to highly detailed residential estates. A native New Englander, James enjoys spending his free time outdoors and with his wife and twin sons.
David Andrews
Senior Landscape Designer
Dave Andrews joined the firm in May 2014. After graduating from UMASS Amherst in 2002 with a BSc. Landscape Architecture, he worked in San Francisco and Dublin, Ireland. Dave has managed and designed a range of projects including sport fields, public parks, urban streetscapes, and residential communities. He has considerable experience working with communities to design and plan local open spaces. Recently he received a Masters Degree from the Dublin Institute of Technology where he explored how municipalities can use temporary urbanism as a strategic component of urban planning.
John Latham
Landscape Designer
John Latham is a landscape designer who joined Brown, Richardson + Rowe in 2015. He has worked on a variety of projects including private residences, multi-use developments and public plazas. His skillset includes strong computer and hand graphics, construction documentation, site analysis, site grading, drafting and preparing documents for public meetings. In addition, John has substantial experience in town center and community planning through continued work during his collegiate summers off. He received a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia. In his free time, John enjoys traveling, catching up with friends and staying up to date on all things Georgia sports related.
Michael Kluchman, RLA LEED AP
Senior Landscape Architect
Michael Kluchman has over twenty years of landscape architectural design experience on a wide range of project types including open space analysis and planning, urban design, public housing, streetscape design, park design, and academic, corporate and residential landscapes. Sustainable landscape design and site technologies have been the focus of his career. He has been involved in many LEED and ecologically oriented projects. Michael also has significant experience in many aspects of environmental permitting including wetlands, protected wildlife areas, brownfield reuse, and green infrastructure systems. He spends his free time “off grid” on top of a mountain in the Berkshires.
