Clarissa Rowe, RLA
Clarissa Rowe, Registered Landscape Architect and co-founder of the firm. She has concentrated on waterfront park design and construction, public parks, and the treatment of soils. Clarissa received her education at Bryn Mawr College and at the Conway School of Landscape Design. She has served as both a Selectman and Town Meeting Member in Arlington, Massachusetts. She is the Chair of the Community Preservation Coalition and President of the Arlington Land Trust and the Friends of Menotomy Rocks Park, Inc. She is an avid reader and a Nationals fan.
Nina Brown, RLA
Nina Brown, Registered Landscape Architect, co-founded the firm with Clarissa Rowe. She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College and her Master of Landscape Architecture degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She focuses on parks, waterfronts, trails, transportation, and historic preservation. Nina is President of the Arboretum Park Conservancy. She served on the Brookline Parks and Recreation Commission for seven years. Nina loves to travel, make watercolor postcards, grow vegetables, and walk in Boston.
Alison Richardson, RLA
Alison Richardson, Registered Landscape Architect, is a Principal. Her name was added to the masthead in 2002 to reflect her many contributions to the firm. She received her landscape architecture degree at the University of Wisconsin's School of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a particular focus on woody plants, forestry and prairie restoration. Alison leads institutional, corporate and campus, transportation, waterfront parks, streetscape and park projects. She is an Overseer at the Boston Architectural College. She lives in a former stable next to the Wilson farm, where she was born.
Anna Cardone
Chief Financial Officer, Principal
Anna Cardone is the Chief Financial Officer and a Principal at Brown, Richardson & Rowe, Inc. She joined the firm in 1996 after working at a variety of engineering firms. In 2007, she became a Principal of the firm. She is in charge of office and financial management. Anna studied at Northeastern University and at Suffolk University. She has served on the Board of Trustees at Saint John School in Boston. She enjoys her children, her Sun Conure Parrot and two cats.
David Andrews, RLA
Dave Andrews, RLA, joined the firm in May 2014 and became a Principal in May 2019. Dave has managed and designed projects including public parks, urban streetscapes, sport fields and playgrounds with a focus on coastal resiliency and urban waterfront parks. He recently completed a sustainable waterfront open space master plan for Lynn, Massachusetts. Dave is passionate about genuine community engagement, developing creative placemaking strategies, and the use of temporary urbanism as a strategic component of urban planning. After graduating from UMASS Amherst in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, he worked in San Francisco and Dublin, Ireland where he received a Master's Degree from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Imogene Hatch, RLA
Senior Associate
Imogene Hatch, RLA, joined the firm in 2010 and became a Senior Associate in July 2018. Genie managed the award winning Quequechan River Rail Trail in Fall River, the President’s Garden and the Main Campus Entry at Smith College and two historic projects for the Trustees of Reservations. She is the overall Project Manager for the Gateway City Parks project at Brown Richardson and Rowe. She is adept in project design, management, master planning and construction administration and is experienced with environmental regulations, brownfield reuse, and complex public agency projects. Genie received a Bachelors of Arts degree with a concentration in Urban Planning and Architectural Studies from Brown University, and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Cornell University. She is committed to providing quality open space in underserved communities.
James Pfeiffer, RLA
James Pfeiffer, RLA, joined the firm in 2014. He became an Associate in July 2018. He has managed the City North Hotel Courtyard project in Dublin Ireland, two projects at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and a Massachusetts rail trail project. He is proficient in construction documentation and administration of projects ranging from educational and institutional facilities to parks, trails and large residential estates. He received his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture degree from Temple University. A native New Englander, James enjoys spending his free time outdoors and with his wife and twin sons.
Samantha Morrow
Project Manager
Samantha is a Project Manager who began her career at Brown, Richardson + Rowe in 2013. She received her Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture with a concentration in Horticulture from Cornell University. Samantha’s particular passion for horticulture aids the firm in creating sustainable and practical planting designs. She has worked on a variety of projects including public parks, playgrounds, bike trails, masterplanning and private residences. Her current work at BRR includes the design and development, community process, and construction observation of a playground and splashpad in Quincy, MA. Samantha spends her spare time looking after and training her Doberman Pinscher puppy, Hades.
Althea Northcross
Landscape Designer
Althea is a landscape designer who joined the firm in 2016. She has worked on a variety of projects including resilience planning, urban planning and private residences. Beginning her career as a language teacher in France led Althea to a fascination with urban planning and landscape design. She has since spent her academic career studying urban forest composition, advanced mapping techniques, and exploring processes for municipal involvement in urban open space plans. Her skillset includes strong GIS mapping, computer and hand graphics, site analysis, and drafting and preparing documents for public meetings.
John Latham
Landscape Designer
John Latham is a landscape designer who joined Brown, Richardson + Rowe in 2015. He has worked on a variety of projects including private residences, multi-use developments and public plazas. His skillset includes strong computer and hand graphics, construction documentation, site analysis, site grading, drafting and preparing documents for public meetings. In addition, John has substantial experience in town center and community planning through continued work during his collegiate summers off. He received a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia. In his free time, John enjoys traveling, catching up with friends and staying up to date on all things Georgia sports related.
Peter Shea
CADD Manager
Peter Shea, CADD Manager, joined the firm in 2000 after working as the Senior CADD technician for two different Big Dig Projects. He continues to work on transportation and trail projects and has assisted with a wide range of landscape architectural projects at Brown, Richardson & Rowe. Pete also oversees the office computer network.
Hannah Van der Eb
Landscape Designer
Hannah is a landscape designer who joined the firm in 2019. She began her career working for the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site in Brookline before pursuing a master’s degree in landscape architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. During her graduate studies she focused on topics related to soil quality, hydrology, and climate change. Her summers were spent designing and building residential and commercial landscapes in coastal Maine. Hannah's skillset includes site analysis, GIS mapping, and computer and hand graphics.
Sophie Morrill
Marketing & Office Manager
Sophie Morrill, Marketing & Office Manager, joined the firm in July of 2019. She received her Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and the Environment from Sewanee, The University of the South in 2019. She is excited to learn about all aspects of landscape architecture and design.
Head of Security
Hades joined BRR in January of 2019 and it wasn't long before he became an essential member of the team. While the majority of his work lies in emotional support, Hades can also be found taking frequent naps, playing with his toys, or begging for treats. He even considers himself a bit of a horticulturist, as he often enjoys marking specimen trees in the Seaport area. With the exception of the FedEx man, he has the unique ability to brighten the day of anyone he meets, and we at BRR consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have him.
