Gateway City Parks Program

The Gateway City Parks Program has funded the renovation of Father Travassos Park, a 6.25 acre park that will connect to the Quequechan River Rail Trail. The park now has a new tot lot and ‘big kid’ play area, picnic tables, a water splash pad, an irrigated soccer field, a deck hockey rink, paths, new lighting, and plantings. Soccer is a popular sport in the Flint neighborhood. The park is next to the Espirito Santo School. It serves children starting at pre-school and finishing in eighth grade. Park construction will be completed in spring 2016.
