Our team completed two phases of pedestrian and bicycle circulation improvements between the B.U. Bridge and the Longfellow Bridge, as part of the Historic Parkways Initiative. The first phase included removal of one travel lane and the addition of parkland and improved storm drainage. Phase Two involved resetting the historic granite capstones along the river, new pedestrian and bicycle paths, trees, site furnishings, and preservation of character-defining features, designed by Charles Eliot and, after his death, by the Olmsted firm.
