Jack Kerouac Park
Jack Kerouac Park, Lowell, MA
Jack Kerouac Park’s setting in downtown Lowell has views to four nineteenth-century mill towers and a canal. Many of the sights that Kerouac described in The Town and the City are visible here. Brown, Richardson + Rowe designed the memorial park, and served on the artist’s jury to determine the focal point of the park—a cluster of polished granite tablets with excerpts from Kerouac's writings, designed by artist Ben Woitena. Additional park features include a large lawn surrounded by shaded walkways, a trolley corridor, and a canal walk lined with flowering trees.
