Cape Cod Rail Trail
Cape Cod Rail Trail, Dennis, Brewster & Wellfleet, MA
This trail is one of the oldest and most popular bike trails in the U.S.A. When it opened in 1979, it was one of the first rail-to-trail projects in America. The route traverses kettle ponds, cranberry bogs, and beaches. Over the years, it had developed snake-shaped bumps, two of which were nicknamed “The Anaconda” and “The Rattler.” Brown, Richardson + Rowe assisted with upgrading 22 miles of the trail which included increasing the width to eight or ten feet, repairing the equestrian shoulder, removing invasive trees and upgrading intersections and parking lots.
