Jackson Square Mixed Use Development, Roxbury, MA
Brown, Richardson + Rowe assisted with the Article 80/MEPA and Boston Civic Design Commission process, designed sidewalks, furnishings, plantings, plazas adjacent to new residential and retail buildings, a public park, playgrounds and green roof for this project at the crossroads of Jamaica Plain and Roxbury. The redevelopment will add life to the blocks destroyed to make way for an extension of Interstate 95 that never happened. The program integrates transit-oriented, green design principles to create a sustainable mixed-income, mixed-use community. This development is the first Neighborhood Development certified project in the northeastern U.S.
