Brown, Richardson + Rowe worked with Goody Clancy Architects for the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) and UMASS Boston on the planning and design for the new Integrated Science Center overlooking Dorchester Bay. The building replaces and consolidates the undergraduate, graduate, and research science departments. The landscape includes custom spiral bicycle racks, new paths leading down the hill to the Harborwalk, pedestrian scaled lighting, an amphitheater overlooking the water and a wildflower meadow. A Botanical Walk lined with native coastal plant communities has bronze plaques mounted on granite monuments detailing the plant species in addition to large stone boulder sitting areas. Final Design began in March, 2010. The building was completed in 2015 and received LEED Gold certification.
